Lucas van Leyden , 1494 – 8 August 1533, Leiden), also named either Lucas Hugensz or Lucas Jacobsz, was a Dutch Etcher ,engraver and painter , born and mainly active i Leiden . Van Leyden was among the first Dutch exponents of genre painting and is generally regarded as one of the finest Print maker in the history of arLucas van Leyden's "Passion" series, executed in 1521. This is a later impression pulled from the original copper plate, printed in Antwerp in 1948 in an edition of 250 on Chiffon d'Auvergne laid paper, and issued by the Stedelijk Prentenkabinet Museum, of Antwerp. The plate measures 4 3/4 x 3 inches. In good condition (with some waviness to the paper). Signed in the plate.
